Field Trip!

Went on a museum trip to Lahaina today; here's Joe in the Courthouse Museum, standing near a gigantic pot used to boil whale blubber in the late 1800s. Saw all kinds of whaling-related artifacts: harpoons, scrimshaw-carved whale bones, scary photographs of whaling in the early 1900s, and a telescope, rum dipper and cannon like those that our favorite seaman, Captain Cook, might have used. Yo ho ho, mateys! Posted by Picasa
