Peace Out...

Happy Halloween from Lahaina, the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific." Halloween is a bawdy, creative, wacky spectator event in this town: Front Street is closed to traffic and the parade of ghouls, pirates, super-heroes, hula girls and scantily-clad young ladies begins early. (It actually begins with the drive over--2 hours for what is usally a 30 minute drive...and I'll let you imagine the parking--or lack of!) It was about 85 degrees at 5:30 pm, and Joe didn't last two blocks in his zombie costume--dad happily gave up his hippie wig and took over camera duty. Don't know if I'd recommend it, but Halloween in Lahaina town is certainly an event in this part of the Pacific! Posted by Picasa
