The Foot of Haleakala...

10.03.05: It is just so beautiful here, I keep taking pictures! Apparently Haleakala erupts every 200 years or so; and given that time table, it is due to erupt again, soon. In fact, it was recently put on "active" status. The good news is that it isn't the kind of volcano that blows it's top (like Mt. St. Helens)...instead it finds a soft spot and kind of oozes the lava out into the sea.
